Philippine Embassy Berlin Holds Consular Outreach in Frankfurt

March 17, 2013

Berlin – A team from the Philippine Embassy in Berlin composed of Ms. Flordeliza Delos Santos, Ms. Melinda Hernais, Ms. Lianna Judith Sale and Ms. Lota Fajardo of the Embassy’s Consular Section conducted a mobile consular outreach service at Pfarrkirche St. Ignatius in Frankfurt am Main – Innenstadt on 16 March 2013.

The four-member consular team facilitated 235 e-passport applications, 4 replacement of lost passports, 32 notarials and certifications, 10 civil registrations, and nine (9) authentication of documents.

Service hours were extended until past midnight to accommodate the huge number of Filipino applicants. Fr. Benedicto Pola allowed the use of the parish hall so that the consular team was able to process all applications.

Ms. Cecile Joy Atienza-Krause, Consular Assistant of the Philippine Honorary Consulate Stuttgart, was present to help manage the flow of applicants and ensured order during the activity. The consular team was further assisted by Filipino volunteers.

Ambassador Maria Cleofe R. Natividad expressed her appreciation to the Filipino community in Frankfurt, particularly Fr. Pola and Fr. Melchor Braga, for their support to the Embassy’s consular outreach.

The one-day consular outreach was the first-ever in the Frankfurt area following the closure of the Philippine Consulate in Frankfurt in 2012. (END)
