Sponsoring a Filipino Au Pair
Currently, German host families may sponsor an au pair from the Philippines. To ensure that the au pair will be allowed to leave the Philippines, the prescribed Au Pair contract must be signed in the original by the au pair and the host family. The contract must be authenticated by the Embassy and the original copy must be sent to the au pair in the Philippines.
Below are the complete requirements:
- Au Pair Contract (1 original + 1 copy)
- Host and Au Pair Information Sheet (1 original)
- Copy of Passport/Identification card of Host
- Copy of Passport of Au Pair
- Copy of visa of Au Pair, if available
The complete duties and responsibilities of both host and au pair are specified in the contract.
Authentication of the Au Pair Contract
The host (father/mother) must appear in person at the Philippine Embassy in Berlin and sign the original au pair contract before a Consular Officer. The host (father/mother) must provide a copy of their passport or personal identification. If personal appearance is not possible, the original au pair contract must be brought to a German Notar and Landgericht prior to authentication by the Embassy. Please refer to the complete information below.
