OWWA Membership Renewal

PAALALA UKOL SA OWWA MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL

Para sa mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) na dati nang miyembro ng OWWA subalit nag-expire na ang kanilang OWWA membership, maari po kayong mag-renew nito.

Mangyaring ipadala ang scanned copy o photo ng mga sumusunod na dokumento sa owwamemb@gmail.com:

1. Filled in OFW Info Sheet na pirmado ng worker;
2. Application for OWWA Membership And/Or DOLE-AKAP na pirmado ng inyong employer at iba pang katunayan ng empleyo tulad ng employment contract, work permit o payslip, kung mayroon;
3. Valid passport; at
4. Katunayan ng bank transfer o remittance ng membership fee ng halagang 22.60 euros (Maaring magpalit ang halaga sa buwan ng Mayo at kada buwan, depende sa palitan ng USD at Euro) net of bank/remittance charges.

Para sa mga OFWs na first time magpaparehistro sa OWWA, paki-antabayanan po ang susunod naming pahayag.

Mandatory Quarantine for Returning Sea-Based and Land-Based OFWs

The public is informed that pursuant to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) Resolution No. 23 dated 13 April 2020, all overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) returning to the Philippines, whether sea-based or land-based, are required to undergo a 14-day facility quarantine upon arrival in the country.

All arrangements regarding the mandatory 14-day facility quarantine will be facilitated and implemented by the Sub-Task Group (STG) for the Repatriation of OFWs under the National Task Force (NTF) – Task Group on Response Operations.

AVAILMENT OF USD 200 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS (OFWS) DISPLACED DUE TO COVID-19

The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Berlin is pleased to announce that Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Russia may now apply for DOLE-AKAP, a one-time financial assistance of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) amounting to USD 200.00 or its equivalent in Euro, for OFWs displaced from their employment due to the COViD-2019 pandemic.

Coverage and Eligibility

The following landbased and seabased OFWs onsite are qualified to avail of the DOLE-AKAP, to wit:

a. Regular/documented OFW; or
b. Qualified undocumented OFW (must be ACTIVE member of OWWA if worker has no legal status in the host country)

The OFW should:

a. Have experienced job displacement due to COVID-19 starting 01 March 2020;
b. Have not received or is not entitled to receive financial aid from his/her employer or from the government of the host country; or
c. Have not received financial assistance from OWWA as a COViD-19 positive OFW .

Documentary Requirements

The following documents shall be submitted thru the online application (https://forms.gle/vGd3Kwese1fVMDJPA) for DOLE AKAP:

a. Filled in online DOLE-AKAP application form;
b. Copy of valid passport;
c. Copy of work visa/permit, if documented OFW;
d. Proof of loss of employment due to COViD-19, e.g. notice of termination or certification from employer (sample/template);

Application Procedure

• Upon receipt of the COMPLETE and CORRECT documents, POLO shall evaluate the application within five (5) working days and notify the applicant about the status of his/her application within five (5) working days following the evaluation.

• Ineligibility of the applicant, misrepresentation of facts in the application, and submission of falsified documents are grounds for denial/disapproval of the application.

Disbursement of Funds

• If the application has been approved, the release of financial assistance shall be through bank transfer or money remittance thru Western Union.

Hannover Consular Outreach: Postponed

 

The Embassy’s scheduled consular outreach in Hannover on 18 April 2020, Saturday, and the previously announced tentative consular outreach missions for the 2nd quarter of 2020 (Kiel and Bremen), have been indefinitely postponed due to public safety concerns over the COVID19 pandemic.

A notice of cancellation will be emailed to those who registered for the consular outreach in Hannover. Once the Embassy reopens its consular operations to the public, the Embassy will review its preparations for the consular outreach missions before announcing a new outreach schedule for the remainder of 2020.

The Embassy calls on the public to follow applicable German Federal and State Government preventive measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
