EXTENDED IMPLEMENTATION OF COVID-19 MITIGATION MEASURES

As announced by the German Federal Government on 15 April 2020, COVID-19 mitigation/social distancing measures shall remain in effect until 3 May 2020.

HOW CAN I HELP?

To protect your self, your family and your community, follow the measures prescribed by the German Federal Government, these are as follows:

- limit outdoor gatherings (only for exercise or errands) to two persons except of the same household.
- keep a 1.5 meter gap between individuals/groups
- postpone all non-essential travel, including daytrips

DO I HAVE TO WEAR A FACEMASK?

The use of non-medical facemask, though not required, is strongly recommended by the German Government when going to a supermarket or on public transport.

WHEN WILL PUBLIC LIFE RETURN TO NORMAL?

The German Federal and State governments are gradually easing restrictions, Retail shops (max. of floor area of 800 sq.m.), car dealerships, bike shops, bookstores, libraries, archives, botanical gardens and zoos will be allowed to re-open on Monday, 20 April 2020.

Schools, except kindergartens and daycare centers, will resume operations in stages, starting 4 May 2020. Primary and secondary schools will be prioritized.

CAN I GO TO CHURCH OR ATTEND PUBLIC EVENTS?

Public religious services are NOT allowed for the time being.

Events, such as concert, football matches, and other activities attended by a large group of people will remain prohibited until 30 August 2020.

CAN I DINE OUT OR WATCH A MOVIE?

Unfortunately, not yet. Restaurants, cafés, bars, and entertainment establishments, like cinemas and theaters will remain close until further notice.

You can still enjoy your favorite food, just order for take-away or delivery, then enjoy a good movie at the safety of your own home.

WHEN CAN I GET A HAIRCUT?

The German government plans to allow beauty salons, and barber shops to open on 4 May 2020, provided the establishments' personnel wear proper protective gear.

FEELING UNWELL?

If CoVID-19 infection is suspected, please take the following steps as a precaution:

-stay home
- isolate yourself, as much as possible, from other members of your household.
- contact your local health department for advice.

In case of emergency, call 112 and inform the phone operator that CoVID-19 infection is suspected.

PARTIAL RE-OPENING OF ON-SITE SERVICES

The Philippine Embassy in Berlin will resume partial on-site operations for Consular Services on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10:00AM to 1:00PM starting 11 May 2020, strictly by appointment only for public health reasons. Please refer to Embassy Advisory No. 18 on procedures for services.

All clients are likewise requested to observe social distancing and to wear a face mask in the Embassy premises.

Face masks are available for those who do not have any.
Applicants are to avoid bringing a companion, unless requiring assistance (Senior citizens, PWDs, minors, pregnant).
